Keeping your Kit account safe

Enable only your credentials for biometric login

If you have enabled biometrics, anyone who can authenticate using biometrics (thumbprint or Face ID) on your device, has the same power as if they have the Boss Code. Ensure that the enabled biometric details are only for yourself, and make sure you delete others. If in doubt, disable biometric login.

Log out after using shared devices

If you are logged in as the Boss on a shared family device, ensure you click the top left menu button then scroll to the bottom and ‘Exit profile’ at the end of your session. Encourage your children to do this too so their siblings can’t access one another’s profiles.

Don’t share your Boss Code

The Boss Code is extremely powerful. Anyone with this code can make a transfer from the Boss Linked Account to the Kit account. Only people who have authority to act on the Boss Linked Account should have access to the Boss Code.

If your child has cracked your Boss Code, change it straight away by clicking the top left menu button > Account Settings > Change Boss Code.

Enable notifications

Real-time notifications will alert you every time money is spent from your child’s Kit account and allow you to pick up on any unusual transactions.

Never share card details

Encourage your child never to share their physical or digital card details with anyone. The same goes for their PIN as well as their access code for the Kit app.

Lock the card if you lose it

If the physical card has been lost, you can lock it in the Kit app under your child’s settings, to prevent unauthorised use while you are looking for it. You are welcome to report a lost Kit card to our customer care team via email at support@heykit.com.au.

By keeping your account secure, you can help your little grownups learn, earn, spend and save, safely.
